Handsome

Although the Tundra’s are a quiet dragon, Handsome is even quieter. As he grew up all the adults would look at him, his siblings, and other babes of the clan and exclaim, “He’s so handsome!” Hence, a nickname turned into a name. To this day, he is still not sure that it was said as truth or sarcasm but it’s the name he remembers and on good days believes he is a Handsome dragon.
He loved his clan deeply but as he hit puberty he began to seek quiet spaces for longer periods of time. He knew he was smarter than most of the other tundras but no one could see past his looks which drove him to seek quiet places to learn. One exceptionally chaotic day Handsome wondered away and just didn’t stop. He felt driven to find a deep quiet place to spend the rest of his days. Gathering and burrowing and avoiding fights and rowdy parties was his only yearning.

One cold night he was being chased by a group of dragons that he had told he didn’t want to fight but they taunted and gave chase. He slipped into a hole that fit him perfectly and fell asleep there. When he woke the next day he found he was at the entrance of an abandoned tundra lair. He explored inside most of the morning and then ventured out as his hunger grew. He found himself in a luscious green valley and felt an overwhelming sense of being home.

After several months of exploring his new area he heard fighting on the edge of his valley. He blended into the flora to watch from afar. The dragons were fighting a young female guardian and as he watched for the first time he was impressed with fighting. She was strong and silent and far outnumbered. As he watched her, Handsome began to feel a stirring in his heart and loins he had never felt before. It became apparent that she was going to die and Handsome could not let that happen. He entered his first fight willingly and in love and being fresh and motivated he chased the others away with magik and sheer will. He approached her and found that she smelled wonderful. She was unconscious but alive and smelled better and sweeter to him as he began to tend to her. He brought her home to his lair and began the long journey of saving her life.
