Shino is a Shinobi from Konoha. He was born in the Aburame-Clan who use insects in battles. As other members of his clan Shino has insects living in his own body, feeding on his chakra.
Shino had to let his adoptive brother go joining the special Anbu-unit Root. As a remembrance to him he started breeding some of his brother's insects with his own to produce new beetles with traces of his brother's unique insects.
Shino is part of Team Kurenai with Kiba and Hinata. Normally he is a very calm guy who does not attract too much attention, but he holds his friends high and is very loyal. He was one of the few people helping Hinata gaining confidence in herself. Although he mostly hides his face and acts mysterious he is hurt if someone finds him intimidating or does not recognize him.

Shino tries to help his comrades whenever he can. He is brave in battles and regrets when he can't help.
He showed great potential as a child and enjoys battling strong opponents.
Shino can use Earth and Fire-Ninjutsu and summon giant insects. The insects in his body can be used to attack or form swarms and do other tasks that Shino commands. These insects are also able to consume an opponent's chakra or even flesh and leaving him unable to continue fighting. The bugs are often used to spy unknown territories or track targets on which Shino left a female bug to follow the scent.
