Memento mori (Latin: "remember that you have to die") is the medieval Latin Christian theory and practice of reflection on mortality, especially as a means of considering the vanity of earthly life and the transient nature of all earthly goods and pursuits. Memento mori has been an important part of ascetic disciplines as a means of perfecting the character by cultivating detachment and other virtues, and by turning the attention towards the immortality of the soul and the afterlife. This curse would be traced down his lineage. All Vigil's children were destined to die, like any dragon. But they would be given a second chance. It was up to the children if they would accept the bargain.

When she died from running off the cliffs into the ocean, she now roams along the cliff’s edge like an apparition. Her name derived from witte wieven which is White Lady. White ladies are spirits that appear around Sorieth, females who die suddenly, walking among the lands as a warning of danger. Witte warns of those along the cliff, her ability to disappear from sight causes many to believe, including herself that she is a spirit. Those apart of her lineage and most within her new clan knows that it’s not true but fail to make her see differently. She was discovered by Avenel, an actual White Lady spirit of a drowned female who died when a boat crashed against the cliffs during a hurricane. They are now seen together often, keeping each other company as they guard the cliffs. They’re peaceful, but very protective to ensure no other suffers along the cliffs.
