Cassiopeia had been in charge of raising the clan's young dragons for centuries. It didn't matter if they were her own children or someone else's. It was her job to teach the little ones about the stars, to show them the paths among them.

After several centuries, she finally lived to see her own children. She tried to protect them from all evil. Though extinction gets to everyone in their clan sooner or later. After all, that's what the clan bears its name from. But she didn't think it would get one of her sons so young and suddenly. No one expected when the madness accompanying extinction would catch up at one of the family gatherings. Dying, she watched her children die. Despair burned her guts. Despair so strong that it was capable of shattering the stars in the sky. The energy of the shattered stars flowed back into the dragon's body, bringing her back to the living. However, despair lingered inside her for centuries to come. For how is a mother supposed to feel, who will forever feel the pain of losing her own children.
