When the ice cracked and the last clutch of banescales emerged, Minaxus wasted no time in fleeing from the Southern Icefield as quickly as he could. Much to his surprise, he was joined by another, Lorette, and together the two fled to the Scarred Wasteland.
The pair were marked on arrival. The wastes are an unforgiving place, and the denizens of the Plaguebringer's domain each sought the banescales as a trophy. That is, until a pair of guardians acted on their behalf, bringing them back to Clan Mortalis Certatus, where they remained for some time.
Still marked for death, as soon as they were spotted by those who meant them harm, they fled again. This time they found solace with a roving caravan, hoping that it would be harder to track them if they were always on the move. Experience allowed the pair to become successful chefs and they quickly fit in with the band of fugitives, wanderers, and orphans.
