Biography

Tlaloc: Aztec god of rain

BIO
Tlaloc is by far the oldest dragon in the clan. She doesn't make friends easily, so she spent most of her early life as an outcast before moving to her present clan, where she was forcibly befriended by Shurhuq and Mistral. She's a very straightforward dragon: she likes fighting and brawling and going on adventures. She's very stubborn and determined, though she tends to somewhat overestimate her own capabilities. This leads her to take on enemies much bigger than herself, but to her credit she never lets a defeat get her depressed: she's always ready to jump back into the fray. Her horns are fake, but she's so used to wearing them that she sometimes forgets they're not real. She likes headbutting enemies and says that the horns make for a good weapon.

JOB
Tlaloc is a warrior, she lives for the thrill of the battle; every day she goes into the Coliseum with his team to fight the Beastclans for food and materials. She believes that the Beastclans are evil and that by fighting them she's protecting the other dragons. She couldn't imagine ever doing anything else in her life.

RELATIONSHIPS
  • Shurhuq and Mistral are Tlaloc's best friends and Coli team. She privately considers herself the leader, and she thinks that they both goof around too much, but they work well together and have fun while fighting. They're the only ones who can get her to open up. At the beginning, Tlaloc thought she and Shurhuq might become mates, but nothing came of it and they ended up as good friends.
  • Ihuicatl is somewhat of a rival for Tlaloc. Tlaloc thinks that the younger dragon is being a burden on the clan by being idle all day. At first she was also jealous of Shurhuq for paying Ihuicatl so much attention, but now she's just annoyed because she distracts him when he's supposed to be working.
  • Banana & Throne hold the purse strings, but Tlaloc knows that her team earns a lot of treasure in the Coli, so they end up arguing often. Tlaloc would like to use all the treasure to buy all kinds of gear for her team, while the girls insist on keeping a fund for lair expansions, food provisions, and so on. Banana is usually accommodating, but Throne never holds her tongue, though usually Tlaloc gets what the team needs in the end.
  • Sourleaf. They're both the strong silent type, so they haven't exchanged many words, but Tlaloc respects Sourleaf as someone who does his job well and doesn't mess around.
  • Ianthe is Tlaloc's son, from a one-night stand that she had with a dragon from another clan. She always wanted a child to train, but so far she's quite disappointed in her brightly-coloured offspring who shows no interest in scratching or headbutting enemies. Then again she never was a very involved mother, often leaving the nest to fight in the Coli while Ianthe was in the egg. Mostly, she's resigned herself that Ianthe will do what he wants in life, and she hopes that her next hatchlings will show more promise.
  • Mars is, in Tlaloc's opinion, another useless mouth to feed. She doesn't understand why so many of the younger dragons seem so taken with him, since it's obvious that Mars is no great warrior and most of the tales he tells are exaggerated or downright made up.
