"Acidbroth arrived in the clan badly wounded, and she is still being taken care of by Galaxy. She says little, and no one knows of her past."

The pearlcatcher shut the leather bound book and placed it back into the lock box in the frame of the doorway. She sighed, leaving her room to return to her throne. She had once thought she had found some sort of sanctuary from what dragons had been pushing her to be since hatching, but to no avail, now she was empress, sitting on the gilded throne of misery and dealing with ego-centric deity worshipping bloodsuckers. There was a reason there was a gate around her palace. She walked until she got to the throne room and then perched upon her chair, resisting the temptation to chuck her pearl at the dragon waiting for her to address him.

"Yes?"

The dragon raised his head.

"Your majesty," began the blue skydancer, face obscured with a birdskull mask "The riots have been getting increasingly worse, you have to do something, or they can and will storm the fortress"

Acidbroth rolled her eyes.

"Tell them to screw off. This happens every week. I don't have time for this. I still have to deal with that damn rebel. Now go away Iolo."

Iolo sighed.

"Seriously? You do this every single time"

Acid pinched the bridge of her nose, trying not to snap. This was the third time this week that that damn nocturne meddled with her empire. The third time this week.

Iolo raised his eyebrows behind the mask.

"You majesty, if I may ask, will you be doing anything about Xibalba?"

Acid whipped her head around to look at her. Somehow, the way he said that implied something else.
"I'm sorry?"

"You seem very... hesitant to do anything about him, considering how much destruction and the mass amount of uprisings he's leading."

"What I do Iolo, is nothing of your concern. Last time I checked, I'm the empress here"

Iolo looked uncomfortable as she glared down at him. He cleared his throat.

"Yes ma'am. Shall I go tell the guards to be on high alert, per usual?"

Acid nodded, looking out the window to her left. Beyond the city, the Molten Scar was visible. That, it was rumored, was where that goddamn Xibalba ran too after things got heated in the city. She continued looking that way until Iolo left the room.

That damn nocturne...
What the hell am I supposed to do about him?
Iolo doesn't have to know about the arrangement. Yet.
