Biography
Orok, Master of Miracles
A rare birth, Orok hatched the child of a Guardian of great Fire elemental power, and a Skydancer who wielded Shadow. Orok inherited the mix of both, raw power from his father and finesse and trickery from his mother. Leaving the Southern Icefield behind as an adult, Orok traveled toward his father's people on the Ashfall Waste. After living and working for many years on the works of Kore toward crafting emperors, Orok left when the research became even beyond the pale for him. The Scorched Forest soon became home, in the Outer Lands between a clan of Banescale and a clan, powerful and wealthy, but led by a self-conceited Pearlcatcher and his unhappy queen.
Among the Outer Landers, Orok is generally considered trustworthy enough, though rumor says he may have had a wing in the seizure of power in the Clan of Raln by the Regent, Leera, daughter of Mortis. But surely it would take a mage of extreme power to find a way to forceably exalt someone, right?
And yet, her former king and her sons are gone to the Flamecaller, the young queen Leera is supposedly a regent for is missing in the Outer Lands, and he's wearing an onyx pendant in gold that very much looks to have come from the treasure hoards of the Clan of Raln.
Orok chose his side in the uprising among the Clan of Raln, Clan of Leera, contributing his power as a Ice mage and his cunning and his duplicity to Amata's cause and now the true queen has assumed leadership of her ancestral clan and joined with the Outer Lands as one clan.
Seeking to protect himself and his own interests in the aftermath of Amata's claiming the bone crown of her father Raln, Orok followed stories told by Rhizaria, Hessonite and Niaka of a fearsome Plague witch in the clan territory. Orok now has joined his own power of Ice with Harmeestra of Plague, Caron of Fire, and Randrek of Arcane.
The Circle continues to grow, as Orok finds his misspent past on the Southern Icefield coming back to him in the person of Purl, daughter of Sunfall, his one time arranged mate to be. Orok is well aware that Purl would rather see a Emperor coming at them than him, but they've both felt the call of destiny to find and join Harmeestra and her journeyman Caron and apprentice mage Randrek.
Despite the past returning in Purl, Orok is comfortable in his space as a contact along with the far less smooth Harmeestra to the Outer Landers and their young queen Amata. Though Orok personally thinks her rose regalia doesn't suit, and the queen needs to be bohemian self instead of what she thinks a queen should look like.
