V A L E N s t o r m . i n c a r n a t e God of storms. It's physical body is kept in a catatonic state, somewhere amongst the clouds. Splintered fragments of their consciousness roam the land in the form of pure energy. Lightning globes are their most common visage, although there have been cases where the fragments were able to take more elaborate forms - even being able to closely resemble Valen's physical appearance during the heaviest thunderstorms. Even at the height of its power, Valen wished not for worship or praise, as it would change not where the lightning strikes the ground. However, the dwindling of the population's knowledge of the god of storms opened up a space where some saw opportunity - in the recent decades, the Ophidian royal court "rebranded" the deity, using its desecrated image as another tool for the control of the land. Thus was born Halon, god of technology, and patron of Ophidia - who's in direct contact with the royal family (and only the royal family), and whatever they says must be executed with the utmost urgency and no questioning, as all they request is for the good of the nation. The increasingly severe and frequent storms across the country's territory are, of course, unrelated. |
