H I S T O R Y

Spirit was found as an egg, without a nest on the outskirts of the Southern Icefields. In fact, the egg was alone in a pile of treasure, which is how Gucci of all dragons came across it. According to Gucci, the egg was nestled deep into a mound of treasure, with a small crack in the top. With Gucci’s incredible sense of smell, it was easy for her to tail no dragons had come here in some time, so she took the egg, along with the treasure, onto The Obscure Octoflyer and back to Nox Invictus.

As a hatchling Spirit was looked after by Pastella and Melanite like many of the dragons in the clan. Even at a young age this odd little nocturne had a fascination with all things weird, spooky, and even dead. They were also beginning to communicate with the spirits of dead insects, which made a lot of the clan rather frightened of the little hatchling. Many dragons blamed the crack in their egg for causing such a odd dragon, though this cannot be proven of course.

Because of these oddities they were named Spirit, for communicating with the spirits of bugs, but before long they were communicating with the ghosts of many other animals and even familiars. With so many dragons terrified of them, one of the only dragons in the clan that they could call friend, and even sister, was Gucci who had grown rather attached to Spirit as well. Spirit even took on Gucci’s last name, since they were orphaned and with no family name.

As Spirit grew old they began to experiment with different types of alchemy, even studying under Master Baldwin for a short time to perfect certain potions and elixirs. Spirit’s alchemy focuses on Necromancy, bringing creatures nearly back from the dead whether that's through zombie form or even attaching ghosts to objects to create living dolls.

One potion that Spirit used on themself caused them to become something not quite alive, but not quite dead. Further studies need to be done to understand just what’s happened, but so far the only notable changes are requiring far less sleep, food, and water than the average dragon. The potion has never been replicated, as a real dragon bone was used in its creation and Spirit fears the backlash of the clan should they find out. (Satana is the only dragon who knows, but Spirit is unaware of this)

Spirit loves to create new “Animals” with various animals bones and tying a spirit to it. This way, they have created many of their familiars who are more or less Spirit’s main companions. Understandably, this does freak out many dragons in the clan, but Makeira refuses to let the other dragons bully her into exiling the Nocturne, seeing Spirit as a wonderful asset to Nox Invuctus.

With their many familiar friends, they are one of the clan’s best foragers for plants and insects. Occasionally they are joined by fellow hunter Okami. Spirit isn’t sure why Okami comes along, but enjoys his quiet company and loves to watch him heal the nature around him when it’s needed.

Spirit also has a soft spot for all things cute. Some of their favorite things are stuffies from the human realm, usually Sanrio or Squishmallows, which Spirit has adorned their entire den in for the comfort. While they would love to have real, alive animal friends and familiars, they wouldn’t dare get rid of their spirit companions, and those alive are too frightened to ever get near Spirit. So, they fill the cute void in their heart with plushies instead!

When Spirit isn’t foraging they are either relaxing at their den, or more than likely at Cordelia’s and exploring the human realm for more stuffies to take home. They have a slight addiction, but don’t tell anyone, okies?
