Dream Eater; Nightmare Queen

Very little is known of Charlotte. Even mere rumors of her emerging from the clan's medical research facilities are rare, and even rumors say she does so only to hunt. More taciturn even than most of her kind, the ancient Mirror feeds and then vanishes back into the bowels of the labs as if she were never there. Stranger rumors have her slithering through the shadows of personal lairs in the dead of night, preying on those who sleep too deeply, but they are even more impossible to substantiate.

Charlotte is no more talkative with those who share her lab space, but they are at least able to confirm the kind of work that she does. Specifically, she runs all of Delphi's sleep and memory studies, probing the secrets of the subconscious mind and how to make it twitch or squeal; dragging the unseen depths of a dragon, kicking and screaming, into the light of day to be pinned down and prodded and pulled apart for further use. Though not especially religious one way or the other, she is known to call on the gifts of her birth flight--shadow and illusion and deception--in the pursuit of a result...including bringing those subconscious fears or insecurities to 'life' for her waking subjects. Her occasional dealings with the equally enigmatic Chro are said to be responsible for Heights and Harald, but neither has been questioned to confirm or deny.

While not in any sense universally feared, others regard her with a seemingly universal sense of unease.
