Personality: Tough, no-nonsense, dry sense of humor, kind-hearted
Morgain is a traveling healer whose expertise is admired all over Sornieth; she is constantly trekking across the continent to treat everything from a broken leg to a devastating disease. Morgain has never encountered an ailment she couldn't resolve, nor has she met a dragon too far gone or strange for her to help. Though of all the many dragons she has met on her travels, her best friend Tricklure is by far the strangest. One day, she had made her way deep into the swamps of the Viridian Labyrinth in search of a rare flower, the only cure to one of the Plaguebringer's most vile of pestilences -- when suddenly, she was attacked. A Spiral covered in disgusting plants lunged from the murky bogs, wrapping himself around Morgain and attempting to drag her into the depths. At first, the startled and furious Morgain thought she had fallen prey to a traitorous kelpie -- creatures which were supposed to be allies of the dragons! -- when she realized she was actually being savaged by a deranged dragon! Annoyed, Morgain simply pinned the Spiral down under her powerful front feet. She was no match for most dragons. Although only the slimiest crooks would dare attack a peaceful healer, if any of them did, Morgain would surely make them regret it. Her soft colors and friendly smile meant nothing; she could break bones as easily and willingly as she could mend them.
With the strange Spiral pinned under her paws, Morgain suddenly realized that he was pretending to be a kelpie -- or rather, he literally thought he was one! She got him talking, and pieced together his story -- this Spiral, named Tricklure by his equine caretakers, had been left in the swamps as a hatchling. The kelpies had taken him under their wings -- or hooves, rather -- and raised him as one of their own. And now Morgain was left with a bizarre Spiral who thought he was a monstrous horse.
Morgain immediately became determined to help this strange, sad creature. She put back on her healer sweetness, and found the curious Tricklure easy to befriend. Although he was very, very unusual, he had never seen another dragon before in his life, and he wanted to know everything about them -- since, in his own words, "kelpies are meant to be allies of the dragons". As such, Morgain convinced him to return with her to her home in the Ashfall Wastes, where she is still trying to teach him that he is not a kelpie and that he should not try to eat other dragons. Even though he insists they should be allies, he can't seem to conquer his instinct to pounce on them!
