Before Phobos had settled in his hive, he initially wandered the tunnels made by the drones. It was then he found Erebos, an injured and buried alive gaolor. Being an empathetic creature, he helped him, patching him up and such while keeping him away from the hive, as he was afraid that one of his mother's drones would kill him. While Phobos was tending to him, Erebos and Phobos began to develop a friendship, which soon branched into something more. When Phobos' hive was ready and he had to leave, Erebos insisted for him to assimilate him, wanting to stay with him. Soon enough, Phobos agreed, turning him into one of the hive, but still keeping Erebos mostly sentient.
