While it does not display much cunning in combat, the Keyblade source of Ferris Gear prioritized straightforwardness over flexibility.

It's nearly impossible to get Ferris Gear to hold focus on anything for too long. Not only is he scatterbrained, he also isn't motivated for anything except how to maximize his own enjoyment. Be it pranks or hijinks, Ferris Gear knows how to have a good time. More often than not, he doesn't cause too many problems since he's carefully watched over by Ocean Rage. But it is easy to slip away from under his guardian's near-sighted gaze.
