You are not a brave man. You know this well. You think is is due to how admittedly pampered you've always been. Your whole life you were prepped, told that you would meet someone one day who'd take you and lead you into the world outside the den of the dark and together you'd build a life together. That was all you knew for so long. You were praised for you lack of parentage and always were so. Spoiled.

You never questioned it.
And then you met her.

Together, the pair of you did take up your job of growing a clan and a community, as you were promised your whole life. But in truth, the gods failed to prep you for just how wonderful she would be. She was strong and caring and powerful. She is amazing, and you fell so hard for her. You did you best to be a brave man, for her. It is a struggle and a drain and yet, you keep trying. You wish you could protect her the way you've watched her fight and protect the entire clan. Damned if ever, you will. You will die before you allow her to fall.
