Explorer: "Hey, you there - you look lost. You alright?"

Daybolt: Hissing. "I am fine. I'm just unsure of this."

Explorer: "Unsure of... what, exactly?"

Daybolt: "I'm surrounded by healthy nature."

Explorer: "Well, yes, it's the middle of the Viridian Labyrinth. Do you need help finding your way? I know this area fairly well, I can probably help you find where you're trying to get to." Flicks crest in helpful exuberance.

Daybolt: "I am not lost. I know where I am. I chose to be here. I am just not sure if I like it."

Explorer: "Why did you come here if you weren't sure you'd like it?" Twitches crest quizzically.

Daybolt: "Because back home there is no green. Green is the best color. I tried growing a green mold garden, but it kept getting overrun by white and black molds instead. With the tensions rising between Nature and Plague, the other members of my pack became suspicious of my obsession with green, as it is a very Nature-y color. But it is just that green is the prettiest color. I am sad that I myself am not green. So I came here to find green. But the green is all plants." Snarls.

Explorer: "It is a jungle, after all. I understand that it might be a bit hard to get used to. Even non-Plague dragons can find the immense amount of jungle growth a bit overwhelming. Are you out here all by yourself?"

Daybolt: "Yes. The rest of my pack were suspicious, as I said. They might have turned on me. But at least the hunting is good here. Lots of animals."

Explorer: "Hmm... I think I know somewhere you might feel a little more comfortable. Mind if I show you around, as a fellow friendly Plague dragon? I'm at least partly green, if that helps."

Daybolt: "Yes, the green streaks in your wings are quite pleasing. Lead the way. If it turns out you're tricking me, you are small enough where I can sneeze and send you into the next territory."

Explorer: "Point taken."

~~Later that evening~~

Explorer: "Come take a look at these flowers."

Daybolt: "They are plant... but they smell like Plague. They smell like rotting flesh. What is this?"

Explorer: "It's called a "corpse flower." They're pollinated by flies. The plants trick them into thinking they're rotting flesh by taking on a putrid odor. A perfect blend of Nature and Plague aesthetic, in my opinion."

Daybolt: "And part of it is green. This is amazing. It is perfect. I will make my lair here next to the tall, pungent green things."

Explorer: "Well, if you'd like, perhaps you can come with me back to my clan. We have several Plague dragons there, and our gardeners can help you grow your own corpse flowers. That way you can still have a pack, and all the green things you want. How about it?"

Daybolt: "Hmm... very well, small green butterfly dragon. I will harvest this corpse flower and bring it with me. To show my appreciation, I will not sneeze you into non-existence. Lead on."



Daybolt now lives with Explorer as her mate, and grows an untamed garden of corpse flowers around their lair. She's expanded her cultivation to include many other species of stinky, fly-pollinated flowers as well. Because of this, their lair has been situated in an area of the clan where the smell will waft away from the rest of the dwellings (the other Plague dragons like to visit their lair for a nostalgic feeling of home, however). She's let brilliant green vines cover their lair, and uses items made from green jade or malachite whenever possible. Most everything she owns, including the inside of her lair, is decorated in some shade of green or with green embellishments.
