Born within the Tidelords domain from a young age Starblaze was surrounded by eccentric and aloof dragons that obsessed over the future and the visions brought to them from the Tidelord. This was fine until dragons started whispering to him of visions about himself. About his destiny and prophesizing him as someone he wasn't sure yet he wanted to be. To escape the path that seemed carved into stone for him by others he left the clan in hopes of discovering himself and hopefully find the order that suited him best as a Gaoler. It took years of searching and Starblaze was close to giving up, feeling like an outcast and disappointment to his species. It wasn't until he came across the Void Voyagers did Starblaze find his purpose. It was within the walls of their home that he found many exciting and strange inventions and ideas springing from even stranger dragons than from his homeland. It was these inventions, that caused the first stirrings of worry within Starblaze. These dragons had no concern about how they found the knowledge that they craved, that they used to push their findings and creations beyond what anyone had ever considered possible. This carelessness meant that more than a few inventions, and perhaps more than just a few ideas, were heinousnessly dangerous. Not just to the inventors but Starblaze was amazed at how many that if gone awry, would kill and maim perhaps thousands of dragons, maybe even more. Seeing this Starblaze confronted Galaxy about his concerns, explaining to her how dangerous and reckless it was to do these things without a means of protection for those innocent and unknowing of their doings. Galaxy agreed fervently, expressing that it had been a growing concern with her as well and she had been adamantly trying to dissuade dragons from dangerous plans and ideas and put restrictions in place on already made and successful creations. But with so many dragons and with only so much time on her claws Galaxy admitted that she hadn't been very lucrative in her progress. It was then that Galaxy suggested that perhaps they needed someone to help guard the clan against their own selves, to help make sure that the clan's lust for knowledge and progress didn't come before their and others' safety. Perhaps Galaxy knew exactly what she was doing, or maybe it was pure coincidence that the job just so happened to be suited for Starblaze to a T. It was with that that Starblaze joined the Keeper Order. Though only after he had traveled to his species' home within the Southern Icefield and spoke to the Icewarden himself and explained the things he had seen within the clan and the horrors they might unleash into the world if left unsupervised. It took a bit of convincing, but after describing an object that resembled too closely to anyone's liking to the Shade and its power of darkness, was it agreed upon. Now every time winter comes within the year, Starblaze will travel to the Southern Icefield and give a report of the clan's progress with their learnings and express any concerns he may have of safety. But in the clan, Starblaze acts as the 'Void Overseer' as the dragons call him, responsible for maintaining how and what the dragons pursue within their own individual projects. Making sure that the clan never ventures so far into the void that they end up bringing too much of it back with them. AN: The Void Overseer job is currently only a one-dragon job but as I expand my clan I hope to add more Goalers as part of a group, with Starblaze as the leader, all dedicated to this task. |
