Solaria
Walker of the Well of Souls

Solaria walks the Well of Souls, looking for breaches and sealing them with the power that comes from the glowing runes on his body.

Growing up in a normal Skydancer clan, Solaria always felt like the odd one out, partially due to the runes on his body, and partially due to the feeling that he was needed elsewhere. One night in his dreams the Lightbringer spoke to him, and told him to find the Guardian of the Well of Souls. He would know him by his dark body and purple glowing eyes. When he woke from the dream, there was a new rune on his shoulder, one that stands for the Guardian dragons, and another that stands for the Well of Souls. Gathering his meager belongings, Solaria slipped from his clan's cave and lifting his head to the sky he saw a shooting star, one that glowed purple. A gentle voice spoke in his mind, "Follow the Arcane star, it will lead you to the Guardian". Spreading his wings, Solaria leaps into the sky to follow the shooting star. It flares brightly once and disappears right over the entrance to a cave. Landing softly Solaria slowly walks toward the mouth of the cave when he is stopped by a masked harpy. "I am Tresti, familiar of Apira the Guardian of the Well of Souls. Who are you and why are you here?" The new runes on Solaria's shoulder flare brightly, and he replies, "I was sent here by the Lightbringer, to help the Guardian, I must speak with him". Tresti regards him with caution, "Remain here, I will summon the Guardian." A Falconclaw Warrior moves to take Tresti's place, keeping an eye on Solaria, and sending a Storm Seeker into the sky to keep an eye out for trouble. After a few minutes, Solaria hears a deep rumble, and the ground vibrates as a dark shadow spreads from the mouth of the cave. Stepping back slightly, ready to leap into the sky if attacked, Solaria watches the shadow as it coalesces into a behemoth that is a black Guardian dragon, with glowing Arcane eyes. Again the rumble comes, but with it comes words as Apira regards little Solaria, "So the Lightbringer sent you to me hmmm. I see her mark on your shoulder, she marked you as a Walker of the Well of Souls. Your job will be to locate breaches in the Well, and use your rune magick to seal the breaches. You are young yet, so until you reach your maturity, you will remain under the care of my mate Navani and her familiar Faer. Come young Solaria, the Arcanist told me of your coming. It would seem the dragon gods are concerned about the Well of Souls, something to ponder eh Tresti." Turning Apira enters the cave, Solaria follows him, and Tresti chuckles to Apira, "Sounds like it's time for a clan meeting, I'll let the others know." Nodding Apira looks back to see a wide eyed Solaria following him. From the mouths of smaller chambers in the great cave, he can see the multicolored glowing eyes of other dragons and their familiars. "Not all here are born Arcane, many of our clan are from other elements, and we do not discriminate. If a dragon comes because they were sent by their god, or were drawn to us in another way, we welcome them. It is a good thing, as the Well of Souls holds not only that of Arcane but all elements." He leads him to a large chamber off the side, and chuffs happily as he is greeted by the sweet and gentle Navani, she rubs her head against his shoulder then spots Solaria and croons softly, "A sweet youngling, a new scent." Taking a deep breath Navani takes in Solaria's scent and adds it to her 'family' collection, "He is staying, and he needs love and understanding". Apira nuzzles Navani's shoulder lovingly, "Yes he is staying, the Lightbringer sent him to us, and he does need a good mother like you." Navani croons softly again and moves closer to Solaria, gently bringing the young Skydancer under her wing, "Come my new son, let us get you settled and teach you about our clan."

"So it has come to pass, that Solaria, the Walker of the Well of Souls, has found his new home, his new clan". Smiling softly, the Lightbringer closes her eyes to rest again.
