Biography
Black Mage
"Selfish, I suppose. Not to want to spend my entire life screaming on the inside."
|Flirtatious/ Charming/ Amiable/ Loyal/ Elegant/ Sarcastic/ Sophisticated|
A charming and astute Gaoler born from a wealthy family in a small village in the forest.
Through careful breeding he was raised to become a prodigy, a master of magic and a powerful mage.
Since his hatching he had undergone strict training by his parents, who thought highly of his potential, and very little for what he wanted for himself.
While he enjoyed magic, he spent much of his time daydreaming, wandering about the dark forest nearby, marvelling at the dangers and beauty of nature.
This frustrated his parents greatly and when he came of age they sent him off to the Observatory to be properly trained.
Upon arrival the master mages and arcanists could sense his resistance (and to his dismay) they sent him to the lower levels of the arcane tower to be trained as a Battlemage; to be quick on his feet and even quicker in wit.
But he had no interest in enchanting daggers or swords; the training was grueling and ceaseless. He was studying and practicing magic at all waking hours, and even his sleep was proded with spells and incantations to hone and train his mind and he couldn't help but think that the mages here were trying to break him.
As a battlemage he was taught one-on-one with his instructors and was forbidden from interacting with his peers and was kept in a different wing of the school entirely as a "safety precaution" they said, but he knew better.
The years passed, and he came to surpass the knowledge and skill of his tutors and rose as one of the best students and mages at the school. With nothing more to learn, he returned home with the great towering shadow of the Observatory at his back, a bittersweet reminder of the harsh realities of magic and the fragility of the mind and spirit.
He arrived home to find his family home in shambles, the charred remains of the house lay in ruins, destroyed by a fire long ago, with no sign of his family to be found.
He fell to the ground and wept, the grass wiping at his tears as the whole forest around him drooped and mourned with him.
He was no battlemage, he was a shadow mage, a black mage. He writhed himself free of his battlemage armor, turned his shining green eyes to the stars above and flew off into the night.
It wasn't long before he found the Circle of Magic a great tower of magic that loomed hidden among the shadows of the Hewn City. A concealment charm kept the tower hidden, but he could sense the powerful magic and it reminded him of the mysterious forests back home.
He roosts in a high chamber next to the library, studying dark magic while surrounded by dimly lit candles and mountains of books.
