Friend: Gummy Worm
In the Hallowed Mire, along a treacherous looking side trail locals referred to as only Swamp Trail a small snapper hatchling is born. His colors do not match those of his siblings though and the odd masks worn by those he is told are his parents do not seem to match him either. Confused on who his parents are supposed to be if not those he was told, he began to wander the poorly beaten trails near his nest to try to find some dragon who matched closer to his colors. As with most hatchlings he became quickly distracted by colorful poisonous critters and plants as he went bumbling about.
Slipping in the mud and wet foliage he slips and ends up sliding face first into a nearby den crashing directly into a hanging pot dumping the ingredients all over his hide. The owner of said den, a witch of the Mire did not take kindly to this unexpected interruption, especially when it disrupted an ongoing spell that they had been working on for days. The poor hatchling shook off the gunk attached to his scales and backed away eyes wide in terror as the witch shrieked something about an eternal youth potion that took forever to make. Turning tail he ran and ran certain he was going to be caught and maybe eaten! He wasn't sure but he certainly wasn't going to stay and find out! He burst out of the brush and directly into a very colorful dragon who seemed to be wearing a butterfly mask.
"Whoa there little one!" the Pearlcatcher exclaimed. "What's the rush?" The young Snapper explained between breaths that he had gotten lost looking for his parents and something terrible was coming to get him from the twisting paths of the area he bolted from. "You can come with us then and we can look for your parents together little one!" The loudly dressed dragon exclaimed. "After all it's not often we stumble across someone nearly as brightly colored as I am! Did you receive a name before losing your parents?" The young Snapper nodded. "I was named Jellydew by those tending to the nest."
