Agamede

Agamede is a finder of lost things, a habit born of regret and the needling fear that she abandoned her children to the service of a sleeping god. Though she honors the Earthshaker with every breath, the Mirror desperately hopes to see her offspring again, a desire she knows will never be fulfilled. In the meantime Agamede has devoted her life to collecting parentless orphans like herself, asking only for their dedication to the Laboratory she founded with her mate, Archimedes, in the shadow of the Pillar of the World. With a love as fierce and patient as if they were born of her own nest, she has given dozens of orphans productive, happy lives.

She has a particular propensity for dragons with matching secondary and tertiary colors, and occasionally performs statistical analysis research on herself so she can one day joins their ranks. Archimedes frequently reminds his mate that she hardly needs to alter her colors to be beautiful in his eyes, but she idly watches for opportunities to buy Scatterscrolls when alone at the Market. She claims the pursuit of knowledge motivates her, but many of her adopted children see only vanity and desperation. Their pseudo-mother is a juxtaposition of pity and admiration, though they'd never admit either to her face.
