B I O G R A P H Y

______ Rex was born at an unknown time when Icaris was still in the Wandering Contagion. For the entirety of his childhood, Rex lived with his old clan in the Forum of the Obscured Crescent, until he left to move to another clan for personal reasons. Eventually, he found himself in the Wandering Contagion and after searching for a few weeks he found the original form of Icaris.

______ At this time, Icaris was still lead by the founder, a Plague dragon named Zerios. Most dragons from this time are either gone, or weren't around long enough to know how Rex became the new leader. At first, Rex had no interest in becoming leader, but after hearing of Zerios's plans to give the title of leader because of his lack of children, Rex decided he would try his luck and attempt to become the first leader of the clan outside of the founder's bloodline.

______ The day came for the new leader to be chosen. Rex's competition was mostly weak dragons who had nothing better to do, but there was one other who stood a chance of becoming leader, Ares. Ares had also recently become a member of the clan, and eventually became the best fighter in the clan, second only to Zerios himself. After they both fought other dragons, they came face to face and began to fight. The battle lasted for hours, and after it was over, Rex ended up being victorious. However, both dragons had major injures, Ares having a large scar over his left eye, and Rex's face being severely damaged.

______ After Rex's injuries were healed, he decided to start wearing the mask he now almost always wears. Not long after, Zerios disappeared, assumed to be dead and Icaris was moved to the Tangled Wood, back to Rex's homeland. It's unknown when Hibikase became Rex's mate, but it was presumably around Icaris' move. Shortly after this event, Rex's successor, Nyx, was born. Soon Icaris begun to prosper.

The Realm of Death

______ Rex woke up, not remembering the past events. The area around him was covered in a blue fog, with black stone ruins scattered across the land. It was obvious this wasn't Icaris, or Sornieth for that matter. Before he could speak, a shadowy figure appeared before Rex.

"Welcome." The figure said.

"Where am I? What is this place? Who are you?" Rex responded, not completely sure what stood before him. It had the appearance of a dragon, but it still looked.. off.

"Patience. All will be explained shortly." The figure said, it's gaze looking away from Rex. "Welcome to The Graveyard. Or as you may know it, the Realm of the Dead. The figure turns it's gaze to Rex.

Rex's expression turned to one of surprise under his mask. "Wait.. the realm of the dead? Does that mean.. I'm.."

"Yes."

"But my clan! I need to get back to them!"

The figure sighs. "I'm afraid once you come here, there's no turning back. Unless you get revived via dark magic, but that never turns out well." The figure adjusts his stance. "As for my name.. I suppose in your tongue it would be.. Thanatos.

Thanatos reaches an arm out. "Come. It is not safe here. You must go to the Hall of Shadow, there, you will be safe."

"But I'm already dead, how would I be in danger?" Rex responds, slightly confused.

"Just because you're a ghost, doesn't mean you can't be hurt." Thanatos says, putting his arm down.

The two begin to make their way to the Hall of Shadow, Rex still not fully comprehending what was happening. Eventually they would stop walking, as a large purple river would stand before them.

"Stand back." Thanatos says, motioning Rex to stand back. "This is the River of Souls, go in and you'll be dragged to Infernis.

"Infernis?" Rex responds, looking at the River of Souls.

"Infernis.. that is the realm of the demons. Any souls who find their way there, are tortured for all of eternity." Thanatos snaps his fingers, and a boat appears from the mist. "Please get on the boat."

As the two ride on the boat, Rex begins to think about how he could've died. He hadn't asked that yet, as the shock from him even being here was too great for him to even begin to think about it.

"So.. Thanatos, was it? How exactly did I die? If you know, anyway.."

"Yes.." Thanatos closes his eyes, trying to remember. "Icaris was attacked by a rival clan, and you along with most of the clan were killed by the invaders. The survivors fled to the Sea of a Thousand Currents." Thanatos opens his eyes as he says this.

"I.. see. Did my daughter.. Nyx survive?"

Thanatos nods. "Yes. Nyx was among the survivors. She gave the title of Son of Shadow to Starstalker, however."

Rex sighs in relief. "Thank the Shadowbinder.." He mutters.

Eventually the two arrived back on land, with the Hall of Shadow in sight.

"Go in. I cannot go any farther than this."

Just as Rex was about to thank Thanatos for his help, the "dragon" disappeared into the mist. Rex then goes up to the Hall of Shadow and enters. He sees many dragons he doesn't recognize, all sitting in the seats above the entrance. Although one dragon does stick out to him..

Zerios. The founder. The last leader of the clan before the move to the Tangled Wood.

The Conqueror.

"Ah, the betrayer arrives at last. Come on and have a seat, let us.. catch up."
