What does it feel like to be the special one, the strange, the one in a million? To the average dragon living a mundane life, such a feeling is made of dreams and fantasies. But to Kaoru, their dream is her reality, and she doesn’t like that reality. The grass may always be greener on the other side, but she’s sure that it’s definitely better to be a proper, fully grown adult. And she’ll smite anyone that says otherwise!

Eternally youthful; that’s the official name for people like her, and there are only two in the whole clan like her. But she doesn’t care about anything like that, not about the names nor the mini celebrity status it gained her. None of that can bring her anything even resembling a normal life, and more importantly, a normal height. The doting, indulgent stance of the clan didn’t help her development in other areas either. Too much leeway and not enough punishment, it seemed, brought out some of her most prominent traits. Rash, bossy, sometimes clingy, she could be called any number of these and more. So difficult is she to handle sometimes, that Nightsky found himself forced to bring out one of his bigger, more assertive familiars to keep her in check. But, that’s not to say that there’s nothing redeemable.

Despite setback after setback, she grew through time and learned, maturing into a young lady worthy of praise in her own right. She might not be the most gentle, or forgiving, but you can count on her to be on your side when it matters, teeth bared and magic flaring. Her confidence, though sometimes annoying, is also a wellspring of support for those around her, who lean on her in difficult times. Most importantly, she stands for what’s right, against all odds, even when it might be safer to just back down and slink away. Others might, but Kaoru fights for everything she believes in, both with words and claws, a relentless force to be reckoned with. That Maned Rasa; he might quell some of her more impulsive tendencies, but even it knows to step back when she gets righteously fired up about something she’s passionate about.

As if she wasn’t already enough of an immovable force, Kaoru constantly seeks constant improvement. For such a small body, she certainly isn’t lacking in drive. For now, she seeks tutelage from Crystal in fire magic. It might be obvious, but Kaoru isn’t a fire dragon. Though… since when has she ever let small things like that stop her? She’ll learn it, and be good at it, and anyone who says otherwise can go eat a sock.

Even if she’s trapped in this cursed, tiny little body, she’ll make a good life out of it. Even if she can’t walk, she’ll find a way to fly. The word impossible doesn’t exist in the dictionary of this dragon, so the world better watch out.
