Biography
For a specific RP:
Name: Makai (translation: the Underworld), nickname "Grandpa Purple"
Rank: Teacher
Age: ...he doesn't remember anymore, probably because he just doesn't care. He's older than 100 though.
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Past getting cozy with someone and just likes company
Fighting Style: He's a Wind Mage with a schnap ton of HP. Like what is typical of his species, he likes to hunker down and wait for his opponents to tire themselves out while taking potshots and making comments. If he is needed in other places or is in a hurry, he will take the initiative and take out his opponents however he must, whether that's crushing them with his jaws or sending them through walls. He sharpens the edges of his Steampunk Wings to cut up anyone above or on him.
Personality: Despite his name and appearance when he has his hood up (namely the creepy shaded eyes), he's a gentle soul, much like a senile old man. He likes sucking his teeth and smacking his lips because he thinks the sound is funny, and if it ticks off other dragons then it's not his fault. He's really just a good guy; it's sort of a mystery how he can kill people without batting an eye. It's also a mystery how he gets dressed without having any digits.
Typical of his species, when asked a question, Makai will blab on and on until someone cuts him off or just leaves. He is rather exasperated by the lack of patience with young ones these days, but for those who are actually interested in his talks, he gives very valuable information. He also employs this tactic to soothe distressed dragons, especially hatchlings the Silence takes in because he knows lots of stories.
One thing that frustrates many dragons he meets is his inability to attach faces to names.
His voice is a nice baritone.
Biography: He was once part of a Snapper clan that wandered around the lands and had a family and all, but he accidentally turned down another migration circle while following a Mottled Buttersnake and never made it back to them. What a guy. He just shrugged and if he found them again, that was fate. If not, then that was fate.
Without a clan and any real goal in life, Makai started wandering outside of the routes he was used to, into more populated areas and places he'd never been to before. Along the way, he told lots of stories and listened more, learning all he could as Snappers do. This was how he learned his magic and how to protect himself and most everything; he traded these skills for stories or knowledge his teachers did not know. It would often be many years before he returned to an area he'd traveled through before, and by that time many dragons had changed, died, or simply moved away and forgotten him. Makai accepted this as a course of nature and decided to remember their stories, if not their names.
He never did meet up with his old clan. Or, if he did, they didn't remember him, nor he them.
Because of his familiar and his overall kind aura, he was constantly badgered by dragons trying to take advantage of him, whether it was getting him to buy something or sell his Buttersnake. Eventually, even his infinite patience ran out after the Buttersnake was injured in an attempted thieving, and he started dressing like he does now. However, this attracted a different kind of attention.
People were intimidated by him now, and Makai didn't really like the change, so he started keeping his hood down. It didn't help much, as the contrast between his kind smile and his dress made them even more uncomfortable. In the end, he decided just to keep his hood up and deal with it, even if it made him a little sad.
It was a while before he noticed guards cropping up where he went, stopping dragons for inspection and in general watching the commoners. At first he thought they were some manner of policing the populace, which wasn't a bad thing, right? Then he realized they were enforcing law a little too...harshly, even going so far as to almost beat an old dragon for looking at them too closely. Makai didn't like that, and told the officer so.
They turned on him.
After being captured (it wasn't like he resisted...) and put under guard, he decided he didn't quite like this either. Something had to be done. Thankfully, he was released the next day and though Makai didn't start the dissent rumors, he certainly helped them along. That was how he heard of the Silence, and he thought, "Why not?"
Fun fact: Though neither he nor Cereal remember, Makai helped Cereal when picking plants back when Cereal was first learning about herbs.
Goals: Someday impart ALL of his knowledge to someone, bring a little fun into everyone's lives
