Grant is the acting chairman of Tegmark industries and Administrator of the moving city of Bifrost. Big in both personality and stature, Grant commands the atmosphere wherever he goes. He's not one to back down from decisions or arguments, something that has gotten him into multiple spats with Tegmark employees and outsiders alike. Not that Grant cares, he has allies where he needs them if the need for calling in favours arises. Everyone gets called in by Grant Tegmark for favours sooner or later, whether they like it or not. There's equal debate on wether Grant likes anyone genuine outside of his cats and his now absent wife, but people like imagining it that he does whenever he disappears for long stretches of time.In the past Grant and his wife Batista were scientists working on research into inter dimensional tears. While Batista was more fascinated by the practical applications and usage of tears, Grant wanted to know why it was occurring. Batista proposed to create a tear of their own to study and against Grant's better judgement the two set about creating their rift. Grant had hypothesised there inevitably had to be a cost to their plan, though he could have never predicted that it would be his wife's very state of being. When the dust settled following the apotheosis of their pet project, Batista stood fragmented, only part of her physical being lingering on Sornieth. Grant lost his hands, Batista lost part of her existence, and only recently was returned to a semi stable state. Nowadays, Grant writes his formulas and thoughts with prosthetic claws of steel and wire. Bifrost lays dormant in the northern reaches of the Shifting Expanse, unmoving and sleeping. The decision didn't sit well with everyone, and technical pioneers blame the ceasing of Bifrost's travels on Grant having become greedy and hungry for the extra money land-borne merchants bring in. Only a select few know the true reasons for why Bifrost no longer sails the skies.
