That's what having a heart was. A very far-off memory. The dragon had died so many years ago, heart consumed by darkness and yet, through full force of will, his body had pushed through and had become a Nobody, a mere husk of his former self and the damaged soul that remained, existing but not existing. A phantom, forgotten like the namesake implied.

Though, despite being a creature that didn't exist, despite being killed and yet reanimated, He retained his original form, his original memories, his original identity.

However, with continued existence through nonexistence, there was a price. He lost things that made him a true dragon.

His emotions.
His name.

Nonetheless, a Nobody is a being that is good at faking. They come across as having emotions, still having a heart. If one didn't know what they were looking at, a Nobody could blend into society with little to no problem. And if asked for a name, he gave the vague nickname of "Memory." So, no one suspected that he was a phantom, a creature that existed yet didn’t exist, a paradoxical being.

Why the name “Memory” though, rather than a much more normal name? A simple answere to the question; a memory was what was keeping "Memory" on Sorneith. After all, why had his will been so strong to become a Nobody? Why did his soul demand to walk this plane? Because he had been double crossed. Murdered by someone they trusted.

And revenge can be one of the strongest fuels.

Though, "Memory" did get sidetracked in his quest for revenge.

Of course, “Memory” had died a dragon with no formal training in combat. He would never catch, much less defeat, the one who crossed him without training. So, he found a warrior to train him, to show him how to use his natural strengths in combination with a lance, a spear as an extension of his own body. And thus, the dragon became a warrior Dragoon.

However, in the course of his training, “Memory” found a dragon that confused him. He was a Nobody, incapable of feeling emotion, yet he began to long to fill that emptiness when he met a dragon that made him feel he still had a heart.
