Biography

Auric Faustus

A mysterious Bogsneak dragon with scales as dark as the midnight sky, but blood of molten gold. His heart pulses with a radiant light that shines across the darkness with every beat. His most beautiful feature is literally his curse.
Auric was the heir and future patriarch of a Bogsneak clan, son of Absinthe who was one of the most powerful necromancers in the Hewn City. Though while his younger brothers and sisters excelled at their studies, Auric fell behind rapidly. Soon he was taken aside by his mother, “Auric, you are only a Faustus by birthright. Prove to me you’re worth keeping, or you’re exiled by midnight.”

Auric left for the heart of the Hewn City where it was rumoured to hide a holy saint’s tomb. The pitch-black catacombs underneath lead to endless mazes and giant deadly spiders. Using Light magic, Auric pressed on through the dead and his fears until he found it; the body of the famous holy saint.
Wasting no time he conducted the ritual to bring Apotheosis back. When he did, the ground began to roar and all the deceased dragons began to rise from their tomb. The Bogsneak looked around in terror and prepared to flee, but was trapped by a shambling Emperor dragon by the exit. He turned and met the golden gaze of Apotheosis behind a skeletal frame. The King-Saint looked on with fury as he poured molten gold into the Bogsneak’s heart, which travelled through his veins and seared like an inferno.
Auric had blacked out before he felt the worst of it and found he had woken up outside the catacombs in the groggy early morning. He pawed at his chest and looked at his hands where no gold was seen, and huffed in relief.
Then upon first vestiges of the sun, the burning flared up again, and from the cracks in his chest poured a radiant light, deadly as it was beautiful- a curse never to step in the sun.
