Caedies carried the tray into the royal lounge carefully, walking softly as to not make a sound.

"You came," Khyllor smiled, speaking quietly, as he padded out from the dark.

"I'm just doing my job," Caedies said as he set down the pastry-filled tray onto a table. "They may be a little stale though."

They both knew these were end-of-the-day leftovers that weren't eaten from the foyer. Caedies snuck them here. It was too late for normal catering.

"They're enough for everyone here, it'll be appreciated." Khyllor reassured as he looked around. Caedies also glanced, cautiously.

"I... must be going," Caedies dipped his head as he took a step back.

"A shame, perhaps another night you can stay longer."

Oh, how I wish..., he thought to himself.
