Biography
"Light of my soul, reveal the power I hold... Psycho Burgundy!"
~Castile, in Makai Kingdom
Castile is a character from Phantom Brave, who also appears in Makai Kingdom. She is Walnut's little sister, and Marona's first, true friend. She's a kind girl afflicted with an illness that makes her very, well, ill... To the point she is unable to move around without a wheelchair and needing to constantly have medicine in order to survive. This unfortunately confined to her room as a result. She was only able to see the world through her books and her bedroom window, so meeting Marona, the Chroma who protected the little island her family lives on from harm, was very exciting for her. The two struck up a fast and deep friendship, shown when Castile gave Marona a shell necklace.
She was also the first person to not call Marona "possessed" because of Ash. Instead, she found Ash to be very cool, and wanted to be friends with him as well.
She played a very important role in defeating Sulphur, alongside Marona and Ash (and Walnut, although she didn't say anything to him before he disappeared via heroic sacrifice) by teaching the putties sign language. This allowed her to communicate with them, which was how the portal that Sulphur was re-sealed in came to be made. At the end of the game, in return for her efforts, a cure for her illness was researched.
By the time of Makai Kingdom, Castile is able to walk and works alongside Marona and Ash as a Chroma herself. They encounter Lord Zetta while the three (and Mocha, the putty she initially befriended and taught sign language to) were looking for Walnut. Lord Zetta uses his Zetta Beam attack, which knocks Marona to the ground. Castile then tells Mocha to take Marona back to Phantom Isle while she fights off Lord Zetta. Unfortunately, Castile ends up being stuck in Zetta's world after the battle, but she joins his party.
An interesting thing to note is that before the battle, she develops a power trigger, which enables her to use Psycho Burgandy like Walnut can... Despite them not being related by blood... And despite the fact that only descendants of Scarlet the Brave possess the Psycho Burgandy skill...
Which means that she is also now a Brave, by technicality...
There are many theories as to how this is possible, ranging from Castile actually being descended from Scarlet (still not related to Walnut though), receiving the ability from Walnut (as he was family, even if not by blood... Although the how is unclear), spiritual intervention (a Phantom of Walnut appears and performs the move with her), or that her powers developed from warping to Zetta's world, due to her determination to find Walnut and her bravery towards Zetta, which was then triggered by her flight-or-fight response.
