LORD INQUISITOR HELIANTHUS SAYS:

One of the most feared dragons of Teller's Rise, few are ever happy to have a private meeting with Helianthus.

With an ability to read energy and emotions far above that of the average skydancer, Helianthus loves nothing more than to provide his services to his clan, though not as a mediator; He doesn't care at all for petty squabbles and hurt feelings. No, what he cares about are lies. Again, not the "did you eat the last cookie" kind of lies.

"I don't know where the rest of my unit went"
"I'm here to serve under the Icewarden"
"I've seen what happened to the boat. It was Marens"

Guards keeps the clan safe by proctecting them from direct threats. Hunters keep it safe by providing food. Inquisitor Helianthus protects his clan by rooting out traitors and punishing them harshly. There are no shortages of covert enemies sent by the Fire and Lightning clan that would see Teller's Rise become nothing more than a few bones scattered across the icebergs, so it should be no surprise that such a character would find their way in the clan. Helianthus already had a reputation when he joined Teller's Rise, having travelled all over Sornieth selling his skills to an assortment of more or less petty goals and clans. Being as ambitious as he is, he was never happy with any of his previous assignements. What he wanted was to work for a king, or perhaps a god. Just his luck that after being turned down at King Specter's court he overheard rumours of a Warrior-Priestess Queen and her clan out in the Ice Floes, working for the glory of the Icewarden. No other voyage in his life ever felt longer.

He arrived to Teller's Rise shadowed by the (soon-to-become) Bloodhound Goma as a bodyguard. Despite not needing to be protected so directly anymore, Helianthus still works rather closely with the Imperial. When an opponent cannot be dealt with (or has to be dealt with in a particular fashion), he hands them over to Goma who (gladly) completes the task. That they knew each other and got along so well was by no mean a surprise, considering their penchant for their respective type of hunt as well as their matching cruelty. That the nature of their relationship went far beyond professionnal courtesy blindsided many, however. Seeing them being sappy towards each other would be hilarious if it wasn't for the risk of disappearing from the face of Sornieth without a trace for daring to harbor such thoughts. After all, the Inquisitor would be a very poor one if he couldn't read emotions well, would he?
