Biography

Being an orphaned dragon is not easy, especially in a world where most need to be nurtured by their parents in order for the hatchling to survive.
Magic's parents were not able to provide that care, and upon hatching, this mirror had to learn that sometimes you have to fight to survive in this cruel world.
Scavenging for any food that he could find and trying to protect himself from other dragons that might see him as an easy target, Magic was all alone from the very beginning, this frail little hatchling with nobody to turn to and no warmth from anybody.
You'd think this kind of mistreatment would turn any dragon cold hearted, shape them into a creature that would shut out the world and believe that the world was nothing more than a cruel place, and you'd be right. Throughout Magic's early years he tried everything he could to protect himself meaning he spent an awful lot of time alone, worried that trusting someone would lead to his demise. For a long time it was easier for him that way, being a lonely scavenger with nowhere to go and having to seek for shelter in the most inhabitable of places. When he got older however, he discovered something magical. It was laughter. Something that was completely new to him.
While scavenging one day, Magic discovered a flyer on the ground that was buried underneath some leaves and covered in mud. He used his claws, blunted from years of use, to brush some of the dirt off of the flyer so he could see what was on it.
Nobody had ever taught him how to read, so the symbols on the paper were unintelligible to him, but what presented itself to him was the image of a bright red tent, standing tall like a beacon in the middle of a map. He didn't know how to read, but through muscle memory he knew he'd been in that area before, and so he set off to investigate this strange thing.

When he arrived in the baron place that used to be nothing but dry land, instead there was the tent he had seen on the flyer, standing tall and proud above him. He was intimidated by it's grandeur but decided it would be in his best interest to see what was inside, in case there might be food or supplies in there he could use.
When he stuck his head inside the entrance to the tent, he noticed there was a spotlight in the middle of it shining onto a stage where a dragon dressed in all red with a cane was watching another dragon do a handstand intently.
Magic was just about to turn to leave, worried he might be attacked if he was seen, when the hand-standing dragon jumped up onto his feet and then fell onto his backside dramatically, with an over-exaggeratedly shocked look on his face. Magic couldn't help but feel something build up within himself and before he knew it he was bellowing a sound he had never heard come out of himself before. A hearty laugh, forcing it's way out at the other dragon's clumsiness.
The dragons turned their heads to look at him and Magic froze in his tracks, his survival instincts taking over, but then the others did something just as strange. They started laughing too.

“The show hasn't started yet!” The dragon dressed in red said. Magic looked at him confusedly as the strange words escaped his mouth that he couldn't understand.
Magic walked towards him cautiously and sniffed him, an action which prompted the other to jump back in surprise.
“What are you doing? You greet people by shaking their hand, you know?”
The stranger reached his hand out towards the mirror, and Magic sniffed it curiously. At this point the dragon in the red coat could clearly tell that Magic wasn't like any other dragon he had met, and from then on made it his promise to take care of the youngster.

That's how Magic received his name, after the Magic of Laughter, because the time he spent at the circus with the ringmaster in red and the clowns made him laugh like he had never laughed before.
Soon he was taught language, and how to do tricks, and it wasn't long until Magic begged the ringmaster to let him join the circus for good. This was where he belonged, where he had mouth-watering meals every night and smiled everyday.

That very same night he begged the ringmaster for a job, he donned an outfit, some clown make-up and walked out onto the stage for everyone to see.

And he repaid this new kind world in the best way he knew how to. With laughter.
