For a long while you've heard of dragons going missing.
No one knows why it happens, some random dragon decides to wander into a section south east of the Shrieking Wilds and suddenly word of their disappearance floods outside the Viridian Labyrinth. Several clans of varying flights, though particularly those of the Nature Flight, hosted a small meeting in the Labyrinth itself. They planned to send out a team to enter the forest, find out what's going on (despite the Nature Flight's odd persistence on burning everything inside) and recover any dragons lost in there, and you got roped in to this mess, mostly due to the fact your clan didn't want to send out their most skilled dragons in the event they need them but they still wanted to help in some way.

"Why are we walking so slowly? We need to get rid of the monsters that lurk in there before they flood the rest of the continent!"
"Oh you paranoid fool, you act as though the Shade has returned in full force!"
"It may as well have!"
The doctor's assistant, Condamnato, had been yammering about for the entire journey, most of your group at this point had agreed he was both annoying and just instilled the same terror he seemed to feel 24/7 into everyone in the group. "I'm with my clan's suggestion, if there is indeed something in there that threatens the safety of the flights we should probably get rid of it" A small Nature Fae said, fluttering beside the young fluffy tundra. "Indeed" A grey Coatl added. The Guardian that had just been arguing with Condamnato sighed. "Costa, Ricordare, why are you and your two clans so insistent on burning this part down? Aren't you the dragons that like plants?" He asked, a grumpy, tired scowl on his face. "I'm sure they have their reasons Illuminare" A young Mirror, Scintilla responded.

Before you could enter the conversation Condamnato informed everyone they were here, and one look informed everyone that something was off, within the endless sea of leaves that covered this section of the Shrieking Wilds, instead of the purely green blanket the rest of the area around it, were several bundles of red, orange and yellow leaves that dotted the area, becoming more and more prominent the deeper the forest got, some of them, much to your ever-growing confusion had flowers in full bloom and wait... was that smoke?

"Alright, come down now, we need to build camp!"
