Biography

"You must know your own darkness to deal with the darkness of others."

Mirage is an extrovert- a likeable, charismatic and funny extrovert. At least that’s what he tries to come across as. In reality, he is a quiet introvert, preferring to keep his ideas and thoughts to himself.

Fluttering out of his roost, Mirage headed towards the library, his favorite place in the clan. It was a peaceful, quiet haven, where relatively few dragons went, safe from the talkative dragons who so often approached him. Mirage would spend hours sitting there, reading about magic, spells, and the elements.

Clutching the scrolls to his chest, Mirage closed his eyes, wishing, not for the first time, that he had been born with the ability to use magic- not the type of “magic” he currently could use, but the ability to cast normal spells, like the ones he so often read about. All the dragons he knew could use their respective elemental spells, while he only had his...evil spells.

A pair of dragons entered the library, gossiping loudly about some poor dragon. Please don’t see me, Mirage pleaded silently. I really don’t feel like talking right now. Or ever, really.

“Hello?” A tiny fae poked her head around the shelf, bright green eyes glimmering curiously. Ugh. Great timing.

Plastering a smile on his face, Mirage looked up, supposedly having just been engrossed in his scroll. “Hi! I don’t think we’ve met before?”

The fae smiled, “Yeah, we don’t really come here often. Me and Meinira just wanted to collect a few healing scrolls for Rosen.” A few too many scrolls, in my opinion. *Sigh* Meinira’s enthusiasm...and she’s twice my age!

A clumsy Wildclaw appeared behind her, arms full of scrolls that started to fall and unravel as she moved. “YEAH! WE’RE GETTING GIFTS FOR ROSEN!!!” Rosen’s gonna be sooooo surprised! I can’t wait!!!!

Mirage sighed. This was quite the unique pair- an energetic Wildclaw, with a soft-spoken, mature fae about a fifth of her size flying next to her- although both seemed to say relatively the same as what they thought, and they seemed to be pretty close. No snakes here, I guess...only me.

Mirage hadn’t had a good day so far. It certainly could have been a lot better. He was in a bad mood, probably the reason why he almost considered using that to get rid of them- not killing them, of course. He would just make them forget that they had met him. They would carry on with their day, completely forgetting what he had edited out of their minds.

However, Mirage had promised himself that he would never use this on his friends. Had it been an enemy, or even a stranger, in a different situation, he could consider it, but these dragons were innocent. He sure didn’t want a repeat of that incident to happen again.

So instead, sighing inwardly, Mirage smiled, arranging a teasing smile on his face. I guess I shouldn’t get on their bad side.

“I visit this library quite often~ would I be of any help? I’ve read some quite interesting...suspenseful scrolls that might captivate you?”

Huh...how did he know I liked suspenseful novels?
