Biography
Silver is in bold.
Who are you?
The water, calling. Calling another as it always does. Bringing them to the depths of my watery lair. Where they meet their final moments with their breath running thin and looking into my eyes-
Who are you?
Gullible. Oh so gullible and easy to trick. They think the water calls for them. For them especially. But the water doesn't care. Water plays by its rules, it does as it is. But I, I have no rules. I am the water. I call for the water, but I don't play its rules. The water seems smooth and inviting, a welcome release from the burden of this world but when they meet my eyes, no matter how ready they thought they were, no matter how often they thought not to struggle they do. They always go down fighting, fighting for their life even though they were the ones who wanted this.
You caused this.
I whisper in their ears. Make them see while their life slips away how thing could have gone differently. How they could have repaired themselves. But they didn't. They listened to me - the water and met my eyes. Gullible as ever. So off they go, fighting upwards on tired legs but not one reaches the top before they die. The water doesn't care. Not even a ripple will remain and no one will come look for the body. I make sure of that. So here one comes now-
Why?
That's not the usual calling. The water never asks why it just does as it is. But the calling didn't come from the water. Who is this? Moving towards me. Calling me. Asking me. Accusing me in just one word. Who is this? In my water. Moving with my water and my bodies. Another dragon. Smaller. Quicker. Kinder. Helping the one coming understand his mistakes and go and fix them - as I do but early enough for him to escape the water.
Who are you?
I call. Shaking myself up on tired limbs. Rocks crack around me, muffled by the water. Who is this dragon to be taking from me my strengths? Who are they to do this?
Why?
They call, almost pleading. Asking. Demanding in the same word. But I find myself wondering. Why? Why do I have to kill for my strength. What do I need it for? Suddenly I am tired. So very tired. It has been a short time and eternally I have stayed here. I heed my breath for one final call before meeting the others eyes.
I don't know.
Darkness. I do not fight it.
