Children produced by this union of childhood friends and life partners usually, but not always, follow one of their parents' professions: Ghira is a talented baker, while Edaph studies and analyzes soil, mostly for local farmers. Patrons of Ghira's bakery sometimes wonder if any of Edaph's samples make it into Ghira's treats -- which taste fantastic, but Ghira will never outright say they don't secretly contain mud.

Like his brother, Morlais chose an artistic path rather than taking up one of his parents' vocations. Still, his choice delighted Edaph: Morlais picked sculpting, so like his father, he spends his days elbows-deep in dirt -- or, rather, clay. Morlais has a talent for creating beautiful, lifelike figures; he likes to depict other dragons, especially those who are important to him. Capturing their likeness in clay means that he'll never have to worry about forgetting them.
