Rory is the first founder of the clan and is a genius when it comes to magic, often throwing himself into all kinds of research projects. He is a relatively quiet soul, often preferring to nod or motion with his body rather than speak. He is incredibly friendly though and always willing to help out or listen. During his time as a clan leader he tried his best to be fair and just but found himself overwhelmed as the clan grew ever larger. After naming Azura the successor as clan leader Rory is truly relieved to no longer be responsible for leadership and upholding order. He still holds sway over major decisions made within the clan alongside Alva and provides advice to his successors. With the heavy duty of leadership off his shoulders, he now whittles away the days doing what he loves most: magical research.

After retiring from his position as leader, Rory returned to his magic tinkering. He spends most of his days in his own magic workshop conducting various experiments with multiple flights of magic. He works on all kinds of projects from the mundane to the extraordinary. For the most part his work involves manipulation of different magical energies and their effects on both objects and some flora and fauna. One of his favorite projects was his experimental mana power packs which he wears with his work coat.
━ HISTORY ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
While Rory is already relatively quiet, one thing he never shares is his past beyond the clan. Some within the clan suspect he actually isn’t from Sornieth but his arrival to it is clouded in mystery and speculation. Regardless Rory refuses to confirm or deny anything, often staying quiet and smiling or shrugging when asked. What is known about his past is he met Alva while digging out a lair from the base of one of the crystal spines jutting forth from the water. She began helping him build a small but cozy lair and the two formed a bond from there. They took in hatchlings and wayward dragons, some staying but most moving on in time. After the clan began to grow too large for the two of them to manage they passed leadership onto Azura and her mate Daedra. |

Rory’s mate and beloved, they met when he was still just carving the clan’s first lair from the pink crystalline spine. With time, Rory learned to better read his mate’s signals and frills, becoming her closest companion and the sole dragon who understood her. Alva in turn became the only one he would truly open up to, feeling completely at ease with. They always find time for each other and often Alva will be seen perching upon her mate like a tiny bird.

Rory’s eldest child and one of his few remaining children who did not choose to serve the Arcanist directly. He is exceptionally proud of Fran and so happy to see her excelling in alchemy and practically following in his footsteps. He often collaborates with her on projects and will ask for advice on alchemy related projects.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ SOPHYIA ━
Rory’s third eldest and only other remaining child, he is incredibly proud to see her find her calling as well. Knowing Sophyia lacked the magical capabilities of the rest of her family, Rory had a hard time helping her find confidence in herself. He continued to support her and upon their return seeing Sophyia handle the peacekeeping within the clan makes his heart swell with pride and happiness for his daughter.

While she was growing up he recognized her love for the stars and encouraged it, helping her carve out a path to the top of the spire to make a tiny observatory and study space for her. He is incredibly proud of her and how far she’s come and knows the task of clan leader is a heavy burden. Rory does his best to be there for her, both as a father and past clan leader.

While she is not as close to Rory or Alva as her adopted sister Azura is, Rory still sees her as family just as she does in turn. He gets along well with Mello despite her more boisterous nature. He is closest to her during their training sessions where he helps her hone her fire magic into her attacks and is when he feels a true connection with her. |
