Biography
Her name meaning "the rise of dawn," and nicknamed Rosa for short, Rosalva was adopted by Holiday when she was quite young. The baby mirror was somewhat of the black sheep of her family, with bright scales adorning her entire being. She's peppy and chipper, yet in a strange twist of irony, this dragon is not an early riser.
Rosa always felt as though she was a girl, though it took her quite a while to approach Holiday about the fact. Confused and nervous, she finally got up the courage to ask her caretaker.
Rosa walked up to Holiday, though walked might not have been the right word for the situation. Legs shaking so hard they were knocking together, the tiny dragon cleared her throat awkwardly.
Holiday looked up, face splitting into a huge grin as he did. "You're up!" He exclaimed. "And it's only 11 o'clock. I'm impressed."
Rosa chuckled along nervously with him, face betraying her nervousness. Immediately, Holiday's grin faded, face becoming passive. "You doing okay, sport?" he asked quietly. "I know I've only known you a short while, but I hope you know that you can tell me anything."
Rosa screwed her eyes shut, biting her lip just a little bit. Her claws tapped out a rhythm only she could hear on the hardwood floor. "I-" she started, before stopping again. She took a deep breath. "I think I'm a girl!" she blurted out, all in one breath.
It took Holiday all of one and a half seconds to wrap his head around that. "Oh!" he said cheerfully. "Okay then. What name would you prefer to go by?"
Rosa's eyes widened, surprised at how quickly the older dragon had come to terms with that fact. "I was looking through some books in the library," she muttered, "and I liked the name Rosalva quite a lot."
"Then Rosalva it is!" Holiday said, no less chipper than before. "What a pretty name! And we can all call you Rosa for short." Then, he looked troubled for the first time in quite a while. "Does... does this mean I shouldn't call you 'sport' anymore?" he asked, voice a little quiet.
Rosa just grinned tentatively at him, thinking of when Holiday had told stories of his kids long ago. of Adolin, who had turned out so much like her father. He had called Adolin 'sport' too. "No," she said, "That's perfectly okay by me. I love all your little nicknames."
Holiday looked like Christmas had come early. "Sounds good to me, Kiddo!"
Rosa smiled back at him. "All right, Popstar."
She didn't think either of them could have felt happier in that moment.
