Clockwork Caretaker
"If the clockwork universe equated the ... body with the mechanics of the clock, the digital universe now equates ... consciousness with the processing of the computer. We joke that things don't compute, that we need a reboot, or that our memory has been wiped."

Time is not kind to flesh. It is inevitable that organic matter degrades and will eventually turn to dust. Ygora was having none of that. The ridgeback had realized she was getting older and might have to someday give up her studies simply because the “meat puppet” her mind drove around would wear out.

This was unacceptable, so she began tinkering with her own body to enhance it and make sure she would outlast her intellectual rivals. Calling upon her abilities in research and the skills of various other dragons building things for her (though they had no idea what for), Ygora augmented herself. She became stronger, faster, more indestructible… and less and less mortal.

As usually happens with those who step outside of norms, Ygora ended up outcast and reviled for being "an unholy amalgam of machine and flesh". Her former compatriots (read: rivals) stirred up the locals and had her run out of town.

While it hurt to lose the place she had fought for, Ygora was never one to give up. Having heard tales about a place that took you in no matter what you might look like, the dragon sought refuge at Chaotic Daydreams. When she arrived, she was thrilled to know there were other hybrids such as herself.

No one in her new home cares a fig for anything but who Ygora is on the inside. The ridgeback has settled in and is building up a library with the help of several other studious dragons in the lair. And with any luck, her experiments will prove out and Ygora will be here for a long time to see it grow.
