Tera

||The Moonlit Herbalist||



Tera comes from another rag tag clan that once resided in a small unknown region of the Everbloom, where strange and unruly plants have prevented dragons from settling there for years, or so many thought. The two clans share a strong connection through their mutual love and protection of abandoned, cursed or otherwise unwanted dragons so are on a friendly basis with children from one clan living in the other. Tera sought out the clan after her brother believed himself to have befallen a terrible curse set upon him by the stars. Knowing of this clans Healer she sought her assistance in trying to figure out the best way to cure her brother.

Unbeknownst to either of them, when Tera settled in her new home she too began to have stars appear on her wings, it terrified her at first as it showed up in the same manor as her brothers. Members of her new clan told her it was in fact a blessing! Her father had the same markings, so perhaps her connection to the stars was carried down by blood and activated by a special constellation of some sort or the strange magical arcane auras of her new home. Tera has tried explaining to her brother that it might not be such a bad thing after all but it seems that her ‘curse’ has but strengthened his reserve into finding a cure for their problem.

Working alongside Jumanji has proven to be an interesting feat, the two nature dragons get on well and it seems the elder appreciates having another dragon around who is more interested in finding remedies through traditional means rather than magical. Tera has a fondness for plants that only grow at night, she gathers them by moonlight or from the soft glow of her wings. Instead of a den she has something more like a burrow where she attempts to grow various mushrooms and other species to use in her various cures. She regularly visits her brother to update him on her progress as well as gather plants that only grow in her native home, hoping their odd spines and poisons might be the key to unlocking something not only about her and her brother but something deeper about the forest where so many fear to tread.

Because of her nocturnal habits it sometimes makes it hard for her and Jumanji to reconvene to discuss their progress (or lack thereof) but as Jumanji write down all her work in her journals if she has new things to show Tera she will set them outside of her burrow before she goes to sleep, giving Tera the rest of the night to read them and add in her own notes. The two regularly break their sleeping cycles to work together on brews and medicines however. It has proven useful to the rest of the clan however as now they have both a day and a night healer so Jumanji isn’t run as ragged as she used to be on her own.

One night while she was out working Tera was almost attacked by an arcane beast in a forest but was stopped by Hollaw, this being the pairs first proper meeting as after being tackled by the night guard Hollaw confessed he’d seen her working one night and couldn’t take his eyes off her. Unknowingly Tera had taught this wayward dragon a respect for live he hadn’t had as he had been cast from his clan for his obsession with taking it for his own selfish obsession with bones, The two continued to meet for some time and after some one on one sessions she felt he would be best at home with the clan who welcomed him cautiously but he soon earned his place with her help. Hollaw is a practicer of reverse rot magic so he helps keep Tera’s specimens fresh and when it comes time he helps to speed dry them out for use in her work. The pair make great mates and constantly teach each other a fondness for life they never knew they could have.
