Biography

Runescale is the founder of clan Runeward. When her former clan had a large, magical experiment go wrong, the resulting explosion knocked several passing Skycats out of the air. One of the winged felines was too hurt to fly back up to the others, and Runescale felt a sudden protectiveness of it. She scooped up the tiny Skycat, realizing immediately that she had found her Charge. The incident caused her to have another, quite un-Arcane thought: They needed to be more careful with their experiments. She tried to convince her clanmates to show more caution, but they seemed perplexed by her concern. After all, there was only so much one could do when experimenting with unknown magical energies without taking a few risks. Frustrated at what she considered her clan's apathy about the effects of their experiments, she set off to start her own clan.

Shortly after carving out a lair for what would become clan Runeward, a tundra dragon name Grimiore appeared. He had been one of her clanmates, and he was impressed by her rousing speech to the rest of the clan. She had convinced him, and after she left, he had followed her. The two are now mates, and they lead clan Runeward together. Although they do their best to keep all magic experimentation under control, safety still occasionally slips their minds.

They are still Arcane, after all.
