"I speak for the Mother to all of her children! Pray that She has mercy on those who do not listen!"

Her manic behavior can be off-putting to say the least. Most dragons who meet her are intimidated by the sheer presence coiled into every fiber of her small body. There is power behind her words, certainly, but the long-standing connection that she possesses with the IceWarden has clearly worn on her mind. She upholds the Old Ways that no modern breed dragon knows first hand, and yet she performs each ritual and speaks every prophecy with the Mother's Claws upon her to the great envy of many Gaolers who have had the honor of witnessing her work.

Chroma's zealous intensity is juxtaposed to a love of cynical humor and flirtatious joy when greeted with a handsome young dragon. She loves to tease those who might show weakness or uncertainty in her presence despite several warnings by her superior, Commander Garviel, to go easy on the newer recruits. As an old female with no young of her own, she has a surprising tenderness for hatchlings and Gaoler cubs.

Chroma, the Pale Witch, who climbs to the icy peaks of the Fortress and communes with the winds that whisper the IceWarden's Will. She is a living legend that delivers the Word of her God to all of Her children. They would do well to listen. It is wise to take her words very seriously, even when one might find it difficult to handle her more grating attributes. She is one of the most important members of IceFallen. She is a member of the Exalted Mournival that makes up its leadership. It is her prerogative to sink her claws into all matters within the Clan as the Mother guides her to do so. It is not uncommon for her to drop into events uninvited.

Chroma teaches the IceWarden's loyal children that each one has a purpose to fulfill. Every task performed plays a role in keeping ancient evils trapped beneath rock and ice and snow. As a member of the Mournival Chroma performs many duties throughout the Clan and especially among the Exalted. She has been present at every birth and hatching of IceFallen young, and she often takes time to weave tales for them while the CubWarden and her aides take temporary leave. She has performed all burial rituals when life has been lost both young and old, Gaoler or otherwise. The old witch has touched most every life that has passed through the territory since the Exalted first arrived. Her council is sought by all who know of her.

When Chroma comes down from the peaks, all of her kin hang on every divine word that drips from her jagged maw. Even the Gaolers treat her with a certain reverence not often shown to modern breeds by their ancient cousins. Some have heard her boast that her leathery hide is blessed so that freezing temperatures do not bite or burn her. Others whisper that for her loyalty, the IceWarden gifted her the shroud she wears wrapped around her willowy form. As well known as the witch is among IceFallen dragons, very little is known about her past beside her being one of the very First Exalted called to serve these sacred grounds.

"Talk to her? What would you have me say Garviel? You know just as well as I do that she only listens to the Mother. I don't recall the last time she took advice from anyone else. You can't control her, if that's what you want. I would cut your losses and give up old friend. You might have better luck controlling the weather. Oh wait... that's the IceWarden's domain as well, isn't it? Us mere dragons cannot compete with Gods. No I'm not jealous. I understand my place in her life. But even the IceWarden doesn't love her as much as I do."
