"The fireflies that are constantly surrounding this Pearlcatcher aren't just pesky bugs. They are much more magical in nature. They spawned one day while the Pearlcatcher was training and it was discovered that these little bugs are what show him the past or future. His parents were surprised at this, as their powers strictly appear within their minds. Having his genes develop in such a way that the fireflies can physically show him what he wishes to see is amazing to them. This comes with a bit of a risk, however. Since others can see these visions through his fireflies, it makes it difficult to keep things a secret from any spies should he be looking for sensitive information for his clan. He also cannot lie about what he sees, as it can be seen. This means that if he is captured, he can not lie and attempt to free himself. While his parents have attempted to teach him how to view these visions only in his mind, but it hasn't worked so far. This type of power seems to be permanent."
