As the once segregated clans of Sornieth continue to mix, a dragon's elemental alignment assigned at birth comes to mean less and less; Windshear is a testament to this new way of life. Known to switch at a moments notice from the fiery passion of her birthplace to the cold and calculating attitude of her adopted home, she is a sculptor and an artist at heart. Her medium? Ice.

Windshear, with her striking white scales that could be seen from several miles away by a keen eye, was, quite ironically, hatched amidst the black soot and flying sparks of the Great Furnace in the middle of the Ashfall Waste. If there was ever a hatchling that could make an argument for 'not fitting in' it would be her. In fact, the Spiral's entire childhood would be steeped in a subtle, laughable irony that would become all the more apparent once she took up metalworking.

The forge was too hot, the hammer was too heavy, this plate of steel wouldn't bend far enough, but that one bent too much. Windshear was as far from a natural as a dragon could be from the Flamecaller's craft. She longed for more precise tools and a material that did what she wanted it to do for the Elevens' sake. What she hated most of all, however, was the permanence of steel. Each great work that was finished was celebrated for a time, then shipped out or stored, but at the end of its usefulness, it would only be good for one thing: collecting dust. No work of hers would suffer the same fate.

Windshear hadn't meant to become a permanent member of the market, but as she walked into the main square with nothing more than practice and a purpose and began to sculpt, she was met with an appreciation for her work that she hadn't seen anywhere else. By the time her ice, summoned by hard-learned magic, began to take shape, the Spiral had amassed quite the crowd. Both merchants and customers alike spared lingering gazes and appreciative comments for each new detail added.

As the work was finished, however, the true nature of the market rose to the surface, each passerby offering more than the next for the chance to call the ice sculpture their own. While there were some amidst the crowd that couldn't understand why anyone could spend so much on something so impermanent, Windshear understood that they were willing to do so because it was impermanent; a typical marketing strategy, this was the physical manifestation of a once in a lifetime deal.

One amidst the crowd, Cinder, would take a special interest in the blacksmith turned ice sculptor, as her journey was the near opposite of his. As he spoke to the young artist and helped her settle into her home for the foreseeable future, one thing quickly became clear: Windshear's claws may be cold, but her heart was ablaze, and that is what it means to be one of the Flamecaller's children. It seemed she hadn't strayed too far after all.
