Biography
Patriss ran. She ran until she couldn't feel her legs anymore, until her wings were sore and couldn't stand to be held up for one more minute. The wastelands scorching ground seared at her feet, and the rancid smell that always filled the air burned her nostrils.
The border was getting closer. She could see it in the distance. She was finally leaving the boneyard, and could leave the memories of all the carcasses she saw behind as well.
She slowed down her frantic run into a slower crawl, finally giving her body a rest. As she approached the swirling mass of fleshy ground she stopped. Patriss looked up at the tendrils looming above her and took a deep breath. She had come this far, there was no reason to stop now.
Closing her eyes, she shot forward. She tore through the membranes outlining the wasteland, clawing and biting her way through the mess. She ran and ran and ran and never once opened her eyes.
Finally, she felt the thick outline of the wasteland peel off of her pelt. She cracked open an eye. Shaking herself she flung chunks of the meaty ground off her body; it hit the grass with a squishy thud.
In front of her lay the plateau. Green grass stretched for miles, and a faint scent of plants filled the air.
Patriss glanced back one more time at the wasteland she had come from. The hole that formed from her efforts was already closing up. Turning back to the plateau, she cautiously jumped from one steppe to the next one. She marveled at the grass beneath her feet; she had never been this close to so many living plants.
She wandered from steppe to steppe mapping it out. Eventually, she came across one that was filled with bushes and flowers and grass as far as the steppe stretched. In the middle lay one singular dead plant.
She approached it and smiled softly. While she would never return to the wasteland, she would make this steppe her home. The bush would always remind her of where she came from. Taking one last big sigh, she sank to the ground and finally let herself rest.

Quote:
Ran away from a land of blood and hate
A young coatl finds a new home to thrive and mate
Pinwheels and reeds scatter across the steppes
To her a beautiful sight she admired and wept
She's never seen so many living plants
She'll never return home, after this she can't
Wandering through the grass with childlike wonder
She runs along the wind, blowing leaves asunder
A breeze howls, the sound accompanying her stroll
Though can life and wind heal a plagued soul?
A young coatl finds a new home to thrive and mate
Pinwheels and reeds scatter across the steppes
To her a beautiful sight she admired and wept

She'll never return home, after this she can't
Wandering through the grass with childlike wonder

A breeze howls, the sound accompanying her stroll
Though can life and wind heal a plagued soul?
