Sarilian was once part of a large Coatl group, and was shunned, pitied, or both due to her duller blue colours. Deciding that such a life would be miserable, Sarilian left the Emberglow Hearth and traveled from Clan to Clan. Eventually, she met Raybender and Pinkfae and they invited her so openly, she decided to join their Clan permanently. Sarilian is still untrusting, so Raybender and Pinkfae don't know much about her. Sarilian is shy around Raybender because she feels that she is intruding on his relationship with Pinkfae. No matter what they say she prefers to keep her distance. Also, her inability to understand Pinkfae's speech.

Despite Sarilian's wariness, she actually became a babysitter when the first clutch of eggs hatched, and tried (but failed) to teach them, but two of them were Fae dragons, so that didn't work out. None the less, the three hatchlings loved Sarilian to bits, because she wasn't their parents, and if she wasn't their parents, that meant that she would be less protective, and THAT meant that they could do actual exciting stuff without their parents telling them to sit down and study what ever it is dragons study.

Sarilian is more fluent in draconic than most Coatls thanks to her years of practice, though Fae dragons continue to elude her understanding. She doesn't get much involved in the goings on of the Clan, and prefers to watch from afar.
