Shirren

The spirit of a fallen gatekeeper from a realm lost long ago, Shirren is now bound to the wing coaster called ShadowKeeper in the haunted amusement park. In life, he was a renowned gatekeeper who devoted his life to the protection of his realm and its people, and held his duty as his highest priority. However, it would not last. One of the realm's high generals and at one time one of Shirren's good friends, Lyrion, turned traitor and he used his relationship with Shirren to manipulate him into leaving his post, allowing their enemies to infiltrate. While Shirren did manage to keep the damage to a minimum and keep the infiltrators from getting too far, the guilt weighed on him. On top of that, he was accused of aiding the enemy and imprisoned in the dungeons, where he nearly starved and froze to death on several occasions; meanwhile, his most loyal and closest friend, a noble knight named Felco, fought to prove that Shirren had done no such thing. During this time, Shirren had metal filigree burned onto him as a form of torment, and as a reminder that he could never return to where he came from should he be released. Knowing that he had no chance, Shirren broke out and escaped his own realm in the night with the aid of Felco. Despite all of this, Shirren's loyalty brought him back to the realm in the middle of another battle with their enemy, in which he was literally stabbed in the back by Lyrion, forced to watch the realm burn, and then handed over to the enemy's allied ritualist faction, where Shirren suffered for weeks before being killed in ritual, on grounds shockingly close to the recently abandoned amusement park. Shirren is the oldest spirit in the park and considers his curse and eternal watch from ShadowKeeper payment for his failures in life.
