Biography

Azrael is one of Hecate's most trusted, and he was the first that she turned into a member of her swarm. As such, he gets the honor of being her mate and the swarm's king. He was a Wildclaw before being turned, and many of the unique social interactions of that species remain an important part of him.As such, being mated to the strongest dragon in the Arcanum is a point of pride for him, and he eagerly awaits expanding his bloodline with Hecate. He struggles some with being so much smaller than he was before, but he has come to understand that magic is a type of strength just as important as his teeth and claws are.

Azrael was part of the Arcanum long before they made the move to the Focal Point, but he found himself growing discontent with how Winter ran things. It was clear to Azrael that Winter held no honor, as she was content to hide behind her own clan members in times of strife and hardship. She would not lower herself to suffering with them, and when the day came that Hecate took control... Azrael only admired her even more than he had before. He knew that she, at least, would always be in the thick of things. Hecate is clever and cunning, relying on her keen mind more than her physical skill, but she is also no coward. Azrael truly does love her.

His role as a king is one that has less to do with managing the clan and more to do with training their warriors. He teaches both the Sun Division and the Moon Division the basics of warfare, and he further trains the Sun Division in how to fight in an honest and just manner. He's just happy to train his fellow swarm members in the ways of the noble warrior. Fighting primarily with magic doesn't necessarily mean that he has to fight with deceit, after all. His mate takes on the Moon Division for advanced training, though he's not entirely sure what all that entails. He trusts Hecate too much to be concerned that he's kept in the dark on these matters.
