OBSERVATION NOTES:

DEFECTIVE, dubbed LILITH by the Hive's CONSCIOUSNESS, was taken in to the deeper layers of the Hive before any of the DRONEs could harm it. After careful observation, it was found that there was a reason to the CONSCIOUSNESS' empathy for the little larva.

It seems that due to the controller's incredibly draconic mind, it's increasingly aware that its Hive might find fault in its odd colouring and un-Hive-like state of thought. So, what better to do than find a stand-in?

When LILITH imprinted on the CONSCIOUSNESS as its caretaker, it grew to desire its 'mother's happiness, no matter its own safety or health. So as it grew, it stood in as the controller's face for the Hive, and the Hive grew to feel a sense of care for the DEFECTIVE. Perhaps due to its weakness and fragility? So much so that the Hive might enter a frenzied state of pure shared anger, or the Hivemind's version of 'anger', if the DEFECTIVE is harmed in anyway. Luckily, this has not occured to any great extent, however there was one incident where it was bumped into by a DRONE. The surrounding DRONEs almost immediately attacked it, tearing its limbs so quickly that it was near a blur of movement.

Such fevered affection from the Hive has earned it the designation of HIVE MOTHER, and with this title, and with such reverence, the DEFECT has started becoming more and more... sentient. Intelligent. Suspicious of its initial purpose.

Now that the larva has reached adulthood, the CONSCIOUSNESS seems to be regretting its initial 'love' and care... rebellion seems even more inevitable.
