______ To understand from whence came the dragon you see, or to understand indeed what she is, one should first look to understand three things. First: that there is a horror out between the stars. From the first age of the world, has the void devoured. Rivers of darkness drowning out the stars, countless gaping maws grasping at what is, and seeking to make it not be. Second: there is beauty in the stars, and in the dark between them. A beauty that many would seek to claim for their own. Never mind the cost, beauty has always been a dangerous thing, just look to Aphrodite, who once was titled Areia. Never mind how it struggles from your grip, beautiful things have always been meant to be owned. And lastly: look to the difference between the light and the arcane; both chase after knowledge, but one seeks what is, the other what could be.

______ There is magic in the appearance of a dragon, yes. But for many it is only that, the shape of a thing. For others it something more, something deeper, more vast. The arcane was always connected to the stars. And in some rare cases, it can be made more so. She was not born like this - oh she always had the seeming, sanguine scales gilled with specs of light. But she was made to be more thorough blood and magic, a river of sorrow sweeping outwards from her brightest star, to match the darkness in the heavens.

______ She is Andromeda, not Cassopia. Her beauty is not her choosing, the shackles forced upon her from a creator that did not listen. She is Andromeda, a woman, a constellation, a galaxy. She knows what it is to be coveted, or to be bound to the whims of others, she knows what is to burn with a bright and terrible beauty destroying those who get too close, has already burned those who dared to grasp and bind a star to a mortal life. Which is why she seeks no the children of the light weaver, the dragons who could love the light at distance, who didn’t have to burn and break with their desire, who could simply let her be as she is.
