Rae

Rae left the Southern Icefields with her older brothers Jay and David not long after she reached adulthood, having just received her appointment to the Order of Keepers to work alongside her brother David. Initially proud to serve the Icewarden in one of the Gaolers’ prisons, Rae soon found that she had little patience for the strict rules and expectations that came with her new role. Rae pushed back against many of the regulations imposed by the Order and soon found herself feeling too restricted to be herself, and so she decided it was time to leave her icy home and set off to find a new flight to call home, her two brothers close behind her.

Despite being the youngest of the three, Rae is typically the leader of the trio, David trailing cautiously along beside her, with Jay never far away, always close enough to keep a careful eye on the two of them. Jay’s protective demeanor is enough to remind Rae of the strict rules imposed by the Gaoler Orders back home in the Southern Icefields without leaving her feeling stifled, and she’s grateful to have the guidance of her oldest brother as she sets out on each new adventure. She often teases her brother David for his hesitancy and caution, but is fiercely protective of him and is quick to jump to his defense whenever necessary.

Rae’s restlessness and feisty personality keeps her constantly on the move, a useful trait in her role as one of Clan Gale Rain’s messengers. When she isn’t traveling across Sorneith, carrying messages to other flights, she’s typically with her brothers, typically spending evenings on the fringes of the clan, quietly listening to the songs and stories of the clan’s performers.
